usc campus- relaxing spot

hi, im a freshman at usc. back home, i had places with beautiful views that i went to for some alone time or listening to new cd's or w/e. is there anywhere like that at USC? im dying to find a place. thanks

also, where would i buy a houka/shisha around here?

Just so you know, Houkas are not allowed in any university housing, according to the contract you signed. Some of the libraries are really nice to relax in. I personally love the reading room in Doheny. I've also heard good things about the philosophy library.

conveniently, there's a smoke shop in the UV on the way to Superior where you can buy a hookah and shisha...they can charge a bit more than other places, but nothing intolerable. i have a few friends who bought one last year, and they're still using it.

as far as relaxing...the "grassy knoll" (the hill to the side of McCarthy Quad) is nice on warm sunny days. freshman year i used to just lie out with my friends with our iPods...i discovered many a minimalist composer that way haha. also, if you just spend your time roaming campus, you'll find many beautiful quiet places, like the park close to Annenberg and "Queens' Court" where Norris and Bing Theaters are. if you don't mind going across the street from campus, the Rose Garden is nice.

as far as one with a view, mostly at night...i didn't do it so much, but last year my friend used to go to the very top of Parking Structure A (on McClintock across RTH) on the northeast side and sat there with his CD player...a beautiful view of Downtown and fairly quiet. PSD (by Birnkrant) has a similar view, maybe a bit louder though since it's on Jefferson and Figueroa.
