USC Class of 2022

@caleegalee you’re welcome

And for those asking… the admissions portals will start to update after midnight pacific time on the 25th.

Good luck to all awaiting the potential “white box” today. Just keep in mind that USPS is not without issues… and nothing is official until the portals update on the 25th.

Have any Thornton Music students received notice of presidential or trustee scholarships yet?

@azfhmom You may want to check the thread for that topic and see…

I don’t have an “admission decision” option on my portal like other people were saying? Where is this?

This is the exact minute of the first post of an admission packet received last year. Good luck to all…

@SexyHippo I believe for RD applicants the portals are not updated till the 25th (I think midnight as by @CADREAMIN or @WWWard , I just can’t remember which of them said it) Right now most people seem to be anticipating their mail deliveries, watching their mail boxes or stalking their postmen.

@SCMHAALUM my daughter’s previous teacher had students waitlisted for Thornton because of their first choice studio. It was before my daughter’s time. I believe they eventually got in. Good luck to your son. We are super impressed by the Kaufman building, but we haven’t been able to see the inside because it was always locked when we were there.

@azfhmom my daughter got her small Thornton talent scholarship on Monday. The Trustee scholarship came out on Tuesday. For both rewards, my daughter got an email during the night to tell her that there was an update on her portal.

^^^ That is correct. The only portal updates last night and today are in regards to scholarship announcements related to the applicants admitted back in January. RD applicants’ decisions will begin to update via the admission portals after midnight on the 25th (pacific time).

In thought the updates were for all scholarships and not just those that were accepted in January?

New to this thread, but I have been following along…good luck to everyone this weekend!! I’m in Chicago, so not expecting anything until Saturday (or possibly Sunday given the expected snow). Super jealous of all you scholarship people, even if I do get in I’m not sure how I’ll afford it :frowning:
GOOD LUCK!

what do you mean for RD applicants? Isn’t USC only RD? no ED or EA right?

Congrats for your daughter @ChenXiaoYun, that is fabulous! My D has not heard yet. Still hopeful!

For anyone curious about when they will receive their package if accepted, this site may be helpful. USC’s zip code is 90089. https://www.usps.com/priority-mail/map/

@SexyHippo , about 38,000 applicants submitted their USC application before December 1st to be considered for scholarship nomination (half or full tuition). About 1200 students were notified mid January that they were nominated for a scholarship, most of which required an in person interview at ExploreUSC in February/March. Those decisions came out last night on the portal at 7pm (EST) and continue to release for some students today on the USC portal.

This has nothing to do with the approximately 55,000 students who did not get the scholarship in January, but will be notified today, tomorrow and through the weekend. Your portal will update, as you have probably read, just after midnight early Sunday morning. However, portals were awfully slow for the scholarship folks, some heard at 7pm last night, some still have not heard now at 11am (EST). I believe last year, many were frustrated that by 9am, some RD students did not have an admission answer.

@SexyHippo We just mean all those who had the decisions deferred to this week (not admitted in Jan with a scholarship offering). You are correct… USC has no early admission/decision option.

If I live in Los Angeles County, is there any possibility that I will get my mail tomorrow instead of today?

I’m in Palm Springs, CA so the one day zone. My mailmen seem to change their delivery route a lot, I’ve gotten mail anywhere from 11:30 AM to 7 PM.

@ftfo2022 anything is possible.

thanks everybody
