USC class of 2023 Applicants Thread

@calipalmtrees you’re welcome. will do…

Can anyone give any info on when should transfer decisions be expected?

I mean …on when transfer decisions SHOULD be expected? :slight_smile:

@Cyberfit Huge transfer thread going on here:

@FlyerDad You’re welcome!

Can someone please point me in the right direction regarding finding a roommate through the USC housing website? My daughter has already sent in her notification of acceptance to SC and we sent in our housing deposit. We did fill out a profile for a potential roommate, but I can no longer find the location or remember which website we used to sign-up for the roommate locator in the event we wish to add additional information.

Can someone please provide the website location and which tabs we need to click on in order to get there. We do have a student ID and password.

Incidentally, 5 days after her USC acceptance, my D also received an acceptance for UC Berkeley, but we want everyone on this thread to know the decision was not even close, and she is so excited to be part of the Trojan family!

P.S. My request is in reference to post #3738 above.

@InstantKarma123. Go to (or google) the USC Housing Portal. (1) Enter your USC student ID and then the housing password that your daughter should have received by e-mail (this is different than her e-mail for the USC admissions portal). (2) At the top of the page, under USCHousing, you’ll see Home, Application and Profile. Click Application. (3) Click “Academic Year 2019/2020” button and then “Save and Continue” (4) Click on Number 5 (Housing Preferences) from the menu at the top of the page to adjust things you are looking for in a roomate or Number 7 (Roomate Selection) to view potential matches. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much, I spent 2 hours trying to find it before your advice and 3 minutes after you provided instructions. Thank you for your kind reply. My problem was not checking the academic year 2019/2020 in case anyone else is having the same issue. I appreciate your detailed instructions, couldn’t have done it without you.

@Cyberfit Sounds like your daughter is in the same situation as my son. I suggest your daughter email dance admissions. My son was told he was rejected for dance, but being looked at for admission to USC in general or for a 2nd choice major. Probably because of he is transfer on CommonApp, the notification will come later. He withdrew his application because he wasn’t interested in a 2nd choice major. Best wishes.

@CADREAMIN…Thanks!

I am an international student and I accepted my offer for spring admission 2020. How high are my chances to be pushed to the fall semester??

@InstantKarma123 You’re very welcome! We Trojan parents need to stick together.

For those of you who are still waiting for your FA information, USC FA Office is still working on them. I was told it might take 2-3 days for the information to be available.

@pshaio Still waiting here for D19 who received notification of Viterbi Fellow award at the end of last week. Nice surprise, so the late FA can be forgiven : )! In contrast, S19 got his FA award on Day 1 in AM. I wonder if the recent Viterbi Fellow award is delaying her FA letter?

@CollegeOdyssey2001 Likely, as they have to apply any merit $ and decrease that from any perceived need. Merit scholarships are always applied first. Then they factor in the expected family contribution. Anything left over is dealt with via grants (federal and university), loans, work study, etc, - as deemed applicable.

Who got through to the office today? I sat on hold…wondered if I should drive and walk in. Anyone there today? Is it very busy?

@pshiao Did you get through today via telephone?? They say they need more time?? Is that correct?

@MomOD4 I called FA Office at 9AM. After navigating through the directory tree, someone picked up my call right away. But I was told they are very busy. So it doesn’t surprise me to be on hold.

Hello! I just received my FA package and we have about $55,000 left to pay after gift aid is applied but our EFC is $2,000. Any idea what happened?
