USC Frats?

Ok is there anyone who can tell me which frats are the best at USC because there are so many! I am transferring from a school where there was only six. Also which of the frats are easier pledging than the others because I heard some of the frats are very hard.

OK. Best is subjective, and no one is going to come on here and bash the other fraternities if they go to USC. Secondly, whether a fraternity (not FRAT) is well-respected isn’t the main reason you want to considr it.You have to like the guys in the house. Aslo, and I can’t stress this enough, it is about mutual selection. You have to like that people, and they have to like you. Coming in as at least a sophomore will hurt your chances at some places, because you will not be a dues-paying member as long, and some groups like to have all freshman, etc. It probably won’t kill you chances, but it can hurt.

“Why didn’t you join at your old school?” is a question that you will be asked. Have a good answer. Check out the greek life website at USC, sign up so that the groups can contact you if they are hosting summer events, and work on your small talk. When you attend parties at recruitment, meet as many guys as possible, be respectful, friendly, don’t get drunk and don’t use this opportunity to hit on girls.

(I am also assuming U of Southern California over Univeristy of South Carolina. If it is an SEC school, it will be harder).

Agreed completely with MizzBee.

This question is probably better for the USC subforum. What year are you when you transfer? Many fraternities don’t take sophomores or juniors. USC students in the subforum would be the best source of info; you might also look up whether there’s an unofficial student guide to Greek life for USC online.

I heard there was some controversy recently about Kappa Sigma at USC (google it - though just a warning, what you read might disgust you), so that might be a consideration.
