I really don't know anything about the asian sororities, either. They will probably be advertising on Trousdale (the main path on campus) at the beginning of next semester, and there is an activities fair at the beginning of school, too, where you can probably find info.

hahha. ok. thanks for the info!

how many girls do sororities usually take per year?

and another question, I don't know if it has been answered yet, but what's the difference btween rushing and pledging? and how long does this process take before they make decisions?

For the sororities, the chapters have like 150-200 members each, so if you divive that by 4, that is about how many girls each chapter takes each year. There are nine houses.

Rushing last one week, and at the end of it, you are in a sorority. Pledging lasts about 6 weeks, you learn about the house, the girls at USC really don't haze (really) and at the end of it, unless you do something really moronic, then you are initiated into the sorority as a full member.

:::::bump:::

sorry to resurrect this post 2 months after the last post, but I would like to hear more about fraternities at USC (since most of the discussion seems to be about sororities). I will be applying to USC in the fall (I live on the East Coast) and, if accepted, joining a frat is something I would definately be interested in doing. I know steroetypes seem superficial, but what are the reputations of the frats at USC? How hard is the pledging process?

Ya I'm kinda curious about sororities too. My mom's die hard theta here at SMU, but I'm sure it must be different at USC.. can anyone brief the different sororities and the girls in them at SC.. thanks :)

No. People could, but it's all totally subjective and not very helpful to you. Go through rush and make your own opinions, don't rely on the opinions of people on the internet.

how much does a frat cost?

how much does a sorority cost as well?

For the brief period that i was in a sorority, it was like $200 something a month...
