Usc? Help Please!

any others?

USC: Probably Reject, but apply anyway!

Your GPA is low and your courseload is unimpressive. Your SATs are also lackluster (but do not require retesting), though your ECs aren't bad and should give you nice grist for an essay. Make sure your essays/recommendations are stellar and try to raise your GPA this year and take some harder classes.

lol what are you talking about, ive taken the hardest courseload possible. Ive taken all the AP's (8) and the rest have been honors. Im in my 5th year of Spanish and have started taking Chinese. SATs are average for USC and im retaking in October (aiming for 2150-2200). Recommendations will be stellar and my essay is top notch.

where do you go to school? upper arrlington? you seem to be very confident with the rigor of your school

Only if you still have your 1st edition holo Charizard can you hope to get into USC.

I never said I go to an elite school. He told me to take some harder classes. I mean, theres nothing harder I can take. All throughout high school Ive taken the hardest courses offered. I know they might not necessarily be impressive but its the best I can do for my school. But my HS is one of the top public schools in Ohio. Is 8 AP's really that bad?

the film school is actually the toughest to get into. you have excellent ec's. i almost did leadamerica and i started a jsa chapter at my high school after doing their summer program. you seem very enthusiastic & confident (impoartant at usc), but that def wont get you in. if you raise your gpa, usc will go from a reach to a definate match. also, admissions loves double majors.

oh cool, how can i indicate that i want to double major? on the application it only lets you put first choice and second choice major. Should I add that I want to double major in the "extra information" section? this quarter i have a 4.0 (4.8333) with a 5 AP course schedule. So that should help some.

Update:
Tulane: Accepted
U. South Carolina: Accepted

Retaking the SAT on Saturday. I'm projecting at least a 2200. How much will this improve my chances at some of my other schools (USC in particular)?

Just got notified of the Presidential Scholarship at Tulane (24,000/year) :) Waiting for SAT scores to come out. I should have around a 2200.

Assuming 2200 SAT Score:
Penn (It's Penn BTW...not UPenn): Reach
Claremont McKenna: Slight Reach
USC: Slight Reach
University of Chicago: High Match/Slight Reach (will depend on essays/demonstrated interest...they can be generous, so I am putting them slightly easier than USC)
NYU: High Match/Slight Reach
OSU: Low Match

New October SAT scores:
Math: 710
Critical Reading: 720
Writing: 730
Composite: 2160

Schools I have applied to. Chances please.

hahaha, I love how Applicant55 just hijacked this thread. Good job dude. uhh for USC with the new SAT i'm looking at a slight reach/possible match...it's just the GPA that's holding you down.

yeah, not sure why he didnt just create his own -_- but yeah, anyone have any idea on the new schools I listed?

-University of Southern California

Nice postive attitude

rofl I'm just trying to be realistic here

any serious replies? lol

Your GPA kills any chance you had of getting into an ivy. Aren't indians supposed to get straight A's?

ROFL the stereotypical Indian. But yeah, I dunno, I think its because I was brought up in America and I have basically isolated myself from strict adherence to Indian culture. Lol my writing and reading scores are higher than my math score =P Anyone else?
