Hey guys, i'm looking to transfer next fall, but need to start applying within a few months. I originally went to UMass Amherst, and ended up transferring back home to a CC for a few semesters. I'm from New York and am planning to visit these two schools soon, however, I just want to know if they would be worth my time- Syracuse to LA and Miami flights are not cheap! I heard the surrounding area of USC can be pretty rough, so just looking for some opinions and random information about little tid bits like that! Thanks!

While Miami is a great school academically, USC has the clear cut advantage in regards to pure academics. I would give Coral Gables an edge over USC’s location, but honestly, while not the most ideal location in LA (like UCLA), USC works hard to keep their campus and the immediate locale the best they can. Personally, while not quite the town of Mayberry, USC’s poor location is a little bit blown out of proportion.

You didn’t include what you wish to study, but I would choose USC over Miami if it were me.

Sorry! Planning on studying Health care administration, or human resource management. Both schools offer both. Thanks!
