USC PRE-MED POST BACC PROGRAM (PPP)

Hi everyone,
There are TONS of posts about the USC PPP program. Anyone recently graduate from it though? I need real opinions about the program. I know it cost 60k, and has no linkages. Those are the two cons.

But can someone from the program please give me some insight? Large class sizes, basically on your own? I would appreciate some kind of feedback or response. I am thinking about med school or PA school and I need a strong science background from a good school. UCSD and scripps requires 2 semesters of general bio which I haven’t taken, thats why I was looking into USC.

THANK YOU…

While I don’t know that much about this specific program, I do think that if anything, doing a more traditional masters program (if you plan to do more coursework after your bachelors) may be a better investment. These post bacc and SMP programs have no use other than as an attempt to demonstrate to med schools that you can potentially be a competent student. When doing these programs, you are banking on the fact that you will get into med school afterward to get the return you wanted.

What happens if you are still an unsuccessful med school applicant after completion of the post bacc or SMP program? You wasted all that money to get nothing in return. These programs don’t help you become more desirable in industry or academia, in contrast to traditional graduate programs.

Thank you for the response!! I have decided to do the traditional community college route. I really appreciate your feedback. Thanks!
