<p>Ming Hsieh, BSEE and MS EE from USC, has pledged $50 million to endow the new Ming Hsieh Institute for Engineering/Medicine. Hsieh, founder of Cogent, Inc., had already donated $35 million to the Viterbi School of Engineering at USC. </p>
<p>The new institute will support research and collaboration with medicine and engineering in the fight against cancer.</p>
