Our son’s USConnect says: “We have received your Common Application and USC Supplement, and it appears we need more information. Click on “My Admission Documents” in USConnect to see details.”

My Admission Documents says the additional info needed is the USC Supplement. So USC either has received the Supp, or they have not. Maybe the Comm App programmers are moonlighting at USC.

In any event, just uploaded the PDF of the Supp.

Same thing happened to my son. On the Common App website, it shows that the USC supplement was successfully submitted. However, on the USCConnect, it says he needs to submit the supplement. We just followed the instructions on USCConnect and submitted the supplement again.

How should we upload the supplements? On one document each or both on the same document? With or without the prompts? If they can’t receive our supplement from Common App, what do we do about those questions about our favorite movie, food, etc.?

I called admissions yesterday, and the person that answered said that in many cases, it’s likely just a delay in processing. She told me to wait a few more days and see if the USConnect website updates to reflect that the supplement from the Common App had been received.

I checked back again today, and it had indeed updated to say “We have received your Common Application and your writing supplement, but we are still missing materials from you”. So I went to the section that tells you what the missing materials are, and the writing supplement was still listed-- which is obviously kind of weird, but I figured at this point that the website is just really glitchy.

I put all of my short response answers and essays on one PDF file and uploaded it just to be safe. Hopefully, that takes care of things.

Yeah just checked today and everything but my test scores have been “received” (although I know I sent them my act score). I’ll probably wait a few more days, probably a processing delay.

In USConnect, it says they haven’t received my Common Application itself, but they have received everyhting else, including the supplement. Weird right? I submitted the CommonApp portion even before the supplement. Anything I can do about this?

I emailed USC yesterday explaining how I’d submitted my writing supplement on time successfully via the common app but USConnect was saying it hadn’t been received. I told them I uploaded the PDF just in case and asked if I would still be eligible for scholarships. They responded promptly tonight. Here’s what they wrote me:

I’d assume that the reason so many were experiencing this problem was simply because the system hadn’t finished processing all of the apps. Rest assured, all of us who successfully submitted on time will still be considered for scholarships.
