@ MamaDeer my d applied for film production first, then screen writing, then undeclared. She had a Skype interview last month and was rejected today. She was admitted to UCLA film school as a Regents scholar, and Berkeley as a Regents scholar. Her stats are 4.6gpa, 35 act. Lots of ecs and film awards. I don’t think she was truly considered for undeclared. It all works out the way it is supposed to be. Go Bruins!
@dana37 Congratulations to your D. Those are great accomplishments. My S also got accepted to UCLA but to the college of arts and letters since they don’t allow second choices and for a backup if no film program accepted him. We are in Kentucky and did not receive anything yet. Considering he did not get an interview like other film applicants we don’t have much hope for good news. But we will know for sure tomorrow. We are very grateful for his acceptance to the film program at the University of Texas and know that he would be very happy there as well.
D accepted into her 2nd major Screenwriting! She also had a phone interview that went well back in February with a professor who said he was “fighting for her.” First choice was prod but she is equally happy with either.
@MamaDeer Thank you for your nice words! Your son has some great options to choose from!
@catzxo Congrats to your daughter! I wish her all the best at USC!
To all others on this thread- Thank you for sharing your thoughts, hopes, and anxieties! I would love to hear where everyone chooses to go to college. I’m sure the admissions boards do their best, but ultimately, they don’t really know you. Find your own path and shine!!!
Congrats to your D as well @dana37! Sounds like she got a great spot with UCLA!
@catzxo congrats to your daughter!!! hope USC is great for her!
I hope everyone else heard great news. I got rejected (no surprise there) but I’m super excited to be at Chapman next year!
@ofmunstersandmen thank you and congrats on Chapman! It’s a great program - my D was waitlisted there for production so who knows why and how each school makes their picks. But her best friend will be going to Chapman and he is uber-talented. You will be in very good company.
