Hello all,
I am currently a freshman student at Boston College, however, after great deliberation and reflection, I have decided that it is not the best fit for me to pursue my academic goals. I completed and sent out transfer applications to the University of Southern California, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the University of Michigan, and the University of Florida. I am a pre-med student majoring in psychology and had a 3.8 GPA in high school with a 2070 SAT score and applied to USC and UNC last year but I was ultimately rejected from both. Although my current college GPA is less than stellar at a 3.1, I am hoping that taking into account that I am only a freshman transfer applicant taking difficult pre-med courses, have previously applied to two of these schools, and am coming from an institution similar in academic rigor and prestige, that this may not completely discount me from consideration. I have already heard back from UM and I have been rejected. Although this rejection is extremely disheartening, and I know that “chance” threads are viewed negatively, I would like to know if I am a strong candidate for admission at USC and the other schools listed. I would greatly appreciate any advice and insight that can be offered, especially from current or past students, family and faculty. Thank you.
Hello!! Could you elaborate on why BC wasn’t the right fit for you?
