I also go to Iran once or twice a year for a few weeks to visit family and to help out the people and kids in the slums.

THANKS

I think USC is most definitely an acceptance. You’re applying for their B-School, right? Your GPA is way above the average for accepted applicants, and your SAT score is pretty goddamn high too. Valedictorian is definitely a huge plus.

Your EC’s are pretty well rounded. What is the thing about helping kids in Iran? Have you made a veritable impact there? I think that could be a very strong EC if you were dedicated enough. Your other EC’s show you to be a pretty well-rounded student.

I’m not familiar with UPenn, Wharton esp., but you sound like you have a strong shot. Why not apply for other Ivies/top-tier schools?

Thanks!
And yes i do believe i will be applying to the B-school. and yes i am applying to other school but i think those are my top 2.

When I go to Iran, my grandfather takes me around the slums and it just opens my eyes to the world outside my bubble. Then we go to a house in which there are 8 kids and a father with no arms and legs. So my grandfather and I give him enough money to feed his kids and a huge plate of fruit. Also i help my grandfather coordinate various “food givings” (i cant really translate the idea into english), that is until he passed away recently.

Where do you live? If you live in CA it is VERY important to visit USC and schedule an interview.

yes i live in california! and YESSS i recently visted USC and ABSOLUTELY LOVED it. I am planning on going for an interview. should i do it thru the Marshall School of Business or the admissions?

That I do not know. It’s probably best to call the admissions office and ask.

Zakat? That’s pretty cool.

What do you think of the surrounding area? Compton is pretty tough. Have you considered UCLA? But if really love the school, that school would probably be the best choice.

i think the area around USC is pretty damn bad and UCLA’s is pretty amazing. HOWEVER, it seems as if the campus at USC has it all (except a grocery store). Also its a really safe campus and at nights there is a free taxi!.

I went to UCLA as well and i like it alot. However, I feel as if a 25 student average classroom is a lot more attractive at USC. Also since all the buildings are red it gives off an autumn feel (which i like more than UCLA’s spring-ish feel). USC is also easier to navigate and UCLA seems just plain ginormous.

whats zakat?

^Good points. Zakat is Muslim charity. I assumed that because you went to Iran…sorry for the shortsightedness. haha.
