USC v. UCLA for engineering?

Spare me the pointless, biased debate please :)
I would love an honest opinion about the quality of the programs and personal attention each of these schools gives to its students. I was accepted to both for Fall 2012. Cost is not a consideration, because financial aid will make the difference in price negligible.

Which school has a better engineering program? And also, is the area around USC as bad as everyone says? I'm leaning toward USC right now.

What area of engineering are you looking at? That might be of some consideration.

Aerospace engineering.

I think Aerospace & Chemical are the two types of engineering that USC is ranked pretty well for. That is why all the aerospace/defense and energy companies recruit here right?

I tend to think of UCLA as better in basic science, and USC as better in engineering. Still, you’re not going to be hired or not hired because you went to one instead the other.

It may be too long ago to be relevant, but back in the 80’s, when I was in the Air Force and then worked in aerospace, USC seemed to have one of the two or three most highly regarded aero programs. In fact, that’s why I ended up going to USC for my graduate degree.
