USC Veri-Tax Email

I received an email from usc ( a follow up for the veritax since my form hasn’t gone through) that I need to fill out the form still. Is this automated? Since decisions are already made and I’m getting an email about FA, is this a good sign?

so did anyone else receive the veritax email

We just received the Veri-tax request today. Don’t know what that means but we did have a missing ‘required’ element on our ‘to do’ list in our USC financial aid section.

So I received an email from USC stating that I needed to fill out the 4056 form, but never received an email from Veri-Tax . Not entirely sure what this means…

@VivienL what are your stats, ECs, and how do you think your essays are? Im saying this because usc already made decisions and the veritax email could mean they are making an offer for a financial aid package

@Ssugrue can you answer the question I have above^? And check your parent’s spam. Mine was in the spam

@biochemmajor11
Applied to SCA and ASCJ. Have major credits and accomplishments in journalism all the way back 7 years. Some credit/accomplishments in Film/TV. SAT was ok: 1420, GPA a little better: 4.5. Essays felt strong. Lots of community service (5 years), leadership etc. Solid letters of rec. Who knows??

For whoever submitted the veritax, how long did it take for usc to update its FAST portal saying they received the form?

to be honest not quite as impressive as everyone else. 3.9 GPA 1380 sat, 3 APs member of NHS, student council, and some other clubs. captain of the hockey team for 2 years, played lacrosse and baseball as well. attended boys state In summer and received ROTC scholarship to attend USC. I am a little concerned however because my FAST account says I need to complete the 4056 form, but I have not received the email to do so

We received an email saying to EXPECT an email from Veritax but it hasn’t come yet. Anyone else experiencing this?

@VivienL Yes I got the same thing

@Ssugrue check you spam mail

@biochemmajor11 I did… nothing there. thanks for the advice though. I sent an email to financial aid to ask about the situation.

I was selected as a merit finalist for USC this year and received a VeriTax request the morning before I received my official acceptance, if that gives nay insight

@VivienL don’t know about you, but I received the veritax email this morning. Guess we’ll all find out if this has any relevance in 2 days. Best of luck to everyone!

I just a VeriTax request this morning

I submitted the veritax form 6 days ago, but my FAST portal says the form is still missing. How long did it take your portals to update once you submitted the veritax form?

I’ve been following this topic for a few days and it would be really interesting to see a trend here after this wave of decisions coming up!

I received a Veri-Tax request in late February (or maybe early March), as well! My 4506-T form (both parent and student) is showing as received in my portal.

One thing I noticed last night that was interesting… on the FAST portal, under Required Info & Forms, there is a tab “Document Library”.

For me, on this page, there are two lists of forms. The second list of forms can be selected and submitted. The first list of forms (starts with “Appeal Concerning Increase in Estimated Cost of Attendance”) cannot be selected to submit, but if you click on one of the forms (namely the one I just mentioned), a new tab opens saying it can’t be submitted until April 1st.

I was wondering if everybody else can see this or if this could be a potential hint, like the Veri-Tax thing might be!

@repaul It means nothing. It says that even for current students.

@WWWard It makes sense that it would say it for current students, but since it can only be filled out after April 1st (after decisions are made), I was wondering if all applicants see these forms (that will soon become available), or only acceptances or at least applicants on the table. :slight_smile:
