USC Veri-Tax Email

@repaul I guess you need more data then lol. Maybe a collection of applicants will check and see.

@WWWard I know USC is pretty airtight with this type of “hint” stuff, so it might very well be nothing – do you know of any hints or trends that people have noticed (like the Veri-Tax or this one might be) in past years?

@repaul Historically, a SDA Open House invitation sent to applicants prior to decision day is the only hint that I have seen actually verified before. Hopefully that trend continues this year for those who received one. Otherwise, it seems fairly cruel to invite you to a special event on campus, that requires making travel plans, and also receive a shirt, etc., if it’s not a sign of admission. I cannot think of any other verified hints. The Veri-Tax request, if it proves to be anything, would be something entirely new this year.

@WWWard But that invitation comes to applicants for the SDA? Or no

@repaul Yes… only to those admitted to the School of Dramatic Arts. Or… at least that has been the trend to date.

@WWWard Okay, yeah, that makes sense. It’s good that they have a little hint for their dept. but it would be cool if we could see something like that for other departments!

@biochemmajor11 Are you seeing the forms I mentioned above on your FAST? If so, I wonder if others (esp. those who didn’t get a Veri-Tax request) can see them!

This is first post in the forum. I have been a silent participant for so long and gained so much from the forum, so decided to post!!

Yes, we got the veritax mail a few days ago.
Yes, I see the tab with the documents that you listed “Appeal concerning…”

So far, got in UNC, Georgia Tech, UCLA, UCSD(regents) all OOS.
SAT - high score (99+)
Two subject tests – 800
Strong course load + good ECs

@repaul hello! I did not receive the Veri-Tax email, though I did receive a request from the FA office for the Parent Tax Supplement Form. When I clicked on the forms, I also got the same tab saying it couldn’t be submitted until April 1st. I’m hoping this is something, however I don’t really think I got in.

@freedom2020 With those stats, you have a decent chance of getting in (obviously we don’t know all factors) - I’m in the same box! Hopefully we both got in!

@Sydcolorful Okay - I’m waiting to see if any other people aren’t seeing that list on the tab!

It is not a hint.

@CADREAMIN What information makes you 100% confident that veritax isn’t a hint of acceptance?

I hope people come back here to report their acceptance/rejection status after tomorrow. If the percentage is way higher than the admission rate, then veri-tax can still be considered a good indicator.

Did anyone receive the veritax email and believe they are extremely under qualified?

I think something changed on the FAST portal. Under “Application in Review” it used to have a link to “Required Links & Forms” , but now that link is gone (it’s still there at the footer of the page), and says, “Financial Aid Summaries for new freshmen will be released at the end of March,” etc.

Also I think I’m seeing more documents in the “Document Library” on the FAST portal - I didn’t count them before, but today it seems like there are extra forms (that, like I said before, can’t be started until April 1st). I just counted those “non-activated” forms and there are 19 - any others seeing this?

@repaul the link is still there for me, but maybe that’s because my veritax form has not updated yet. When did you submit your veritax form?

so for my financial aid application, since FAST had not updated, I emailed USC on Monday. They responded promptly saying that they found my FAFSA and CSS , and they would manually enter it. As of yesterday, my FAFSA and CSS were marked as received. They said the manual entering process would take 3-5 business days, and they would contact me if more documents were necessary. Should I take this as a bad sign, seeing as though I didnt get the veritax. When did they received your FAFSA’s. Thanks

@biochemmajor11 Probably late February, but maybe early March. What exactly does that message say for you?

@repaul do you have 3 messages:

Eligibility Met
Citizenship
Satisfactory Degree Process

Application Under Reviw

@collegeappacc Yes, I have those. Click on “Application Under Review”. Would you tell me what message appears under that?
