Hi everyone,
I was recently admitted into USC and UCLA for mathematics/economics and UCB for applied math. I know that UCB ranks higher than the other two, but I am a little concerned about the restrictions of a public university at UCB vs the advantages of a private at USC. Currently, I would hope to become an actuary, but would also like to have other options available.
-Do the benefits of a private universit at USC outweigh the the education at UCB/UCLA?
-If I do decide to change manors, how difficult would it be at each of the colleges?
-Is USC still worth it for dornslife rather than Marshall?
-Which college would give me the best experience?
-Is it much tougher at one college vs another?
Private gives great advantages if you can afford it, including super easy to change major and double major (not so easy at the publics you mentioned). Forget about the rankings. Go where you will be happy.
