USC vs. UNC Chapel Hill

Hey everyone,

As the deposit deadline approaches, I've narrowed my decisions down to two schools - USC and UNC Chapel Hill.

Financial aid is a strong concern:
USC: Got Presidential Scholarship and around 5k in loans per year. Final package stated that the family is expected to contribute around 26-27k.

UNC: Got 9.5k in grant and around 7k in loans per year. Final EFC is around 20-21k.

I have always wanted to go to USC -- visited during Explore and loved it. I want to go out west and experience the different opportunities offered there. Plus, the school spirit is amazing.

UNC wasn't a big school for me until I got the finaid package. Now I'm starting to consider it especially with the 5-6k less per year.

any opinions? try not to be TOO biased :P

sounds as if you like USC for the school itself while you like UNC for the slightly cheaper price. that being said, i think you know which university i’d recommend

of course, your major is a big factor

I agree with Saitsuzen… what is ur intended major?

sorry for omitting it earlier…

but i’m a business major. i know you need to apply for the undergrad program at UNC … i don’t really know the stats for those who matriculate into the business program.

i had this same problem last year. search the forum for unc and you should find my thread. i ended up choosing usc and love it and have never looked back
