Can anyone give me some insight oaths schools? I've visited them all and rice sticks out as my favorite but not by much and decision time is coming soon. Financial aid ignored, what is a good choice for a chemical engineering major that wants to have fun by being moderately involved. I also want a student body thats generally happy, but being college I can understand haha. Thanks for any help.

The only school I can give insight on from this list is the University of Southern California. The campus is clearly beautiful–the insides of many buildings have marble floors and this overall elegance to them. There’s not even any gum on the floor. The buildings are a warm red brick, and the weather is beautiful.

As for the student population, they seem… happy. Compared to other schools I’ve visited, there seems to be more balance between social skills and intelligence, and they all have a ton of pride in their school. They’re also close to a lot of cool stuff, like beaches and theaters and sports centers and everything else that LA offers, which is pretty cool.

The academics are very good, but they lack the prestige that some other schools possess; however, they seem to have a strong upward trend showing in most ranking things [even though that isn’t an accurate measure of anything] but you can see that their resources will keep growing from things like their newest 200 million donation to The College.

So I know that this is only a one-sided perspective, but I hope that it’ll tell you a bit more about at least this school so you can compare it to your other choices. Good luck, who knew choosing would be this difficult!

Thanks for the help. Does anybody else have an opinion??

Vanderbilt is supposed to be a beautiful school and wonderful academic institution. Very southern though… “Girls in pearls, guys in ties.”
