USC with average stats?

Hello,

Im a Junior at an elite NYC private school, and I have no idea if my stats are good enough because the environment around me is so competitive. USC is my top choice school, but I’m also very interested in some other competitive schools. These are my stats:

33 ACT (only taken once)
36 English
30 math
34 reading
32 science
10 essay

3.6ish gpa (my school doesn’t calculate gpa
I attended USC summer programs and got an A in my class
I’ve done professional work in acting along with all the school plays/ musicals
I’m a part of student government
I’m a student tour guide
I’m on the student hiring committee (I interview potential school hires)
I’m a math tutor

Please let me know if USC or other competitive schools are a long shot because of my not so great GPA- thank you!!

  • forgot to mention I also won 2 honors awards in acting + have gone to a few acting schools

I was just accepted at Dornsife and I had a 33 ACT, 1500 SAT, 4.0 GPA, and full extracurriculars. I am unfamiliar with how your grades are, but clearly you are all set with standardize tests. Focus of strong grades and essays and I think you have a good chance!!

If you are at an elite NYC school the by far and away best person to ask would be the guidance counselor/dean at your HS. He/she would know the history of how students have done applying to USC and other colleges with your academic profile. If your HS has Naviance that would be a useful tool as well.
