So I’ve been a hoverer on CC for a while now and in the past month or so I got into the WBB program at USC and Berkeley for pre-Haas. I’m interviewing for a half scholarship at USC in a few weeks and I didn’t get any money from Berkeley but I’m tempted by its reputation. Thoughts? What are the pros and cons of each?
Remember that UCB business is competitive admission after completing the prerequisites. So if you attend, know that you need to plan for sn alternate major if you do not get into business.
You’re in for business at USC. Take that if it’s affordable. There’s no guarantee you’ll get into HAAS, as it’s crazy competitive. Haas’ reputation won’t do you any good if you don’t get in (which, regardless of your achievements to date, is the most likely scenario due to the odds …)
Are you in-state or out-of-state?
USC and Berkeley both have tremendous reputations so “brand” of school is not a factor to consider. Consider affordability and what you want. USC launches you into business starting the day classes start and Berkeley HAAS is not a guarantee upon admission…I would go USC but weight the factors that differentiate these schools because they are very different.
