USC's tuition will top $50,000 for the first time

@nauidiver don’t know where you got those giving numbers, or how old they are, but they’re way off.

Regardless of which list you use, the point remains - USC has a relatively high giving rate.

Students held a rally and sit-in (in Bovard) yesterday to protest tuition hikes: http://dailytrojan.com/2016/03/07/students-hold-rally-protest-tuition-increase/

I guess families need to do the research and figure out what’s best for them. Is a USC experience really worth that much? To some people it might be! Depends on the person! I know a USC grad who’s working in a bookstore, I know one who works for a hotsy accounting firm…and I know one who works as a speech therapist for the school district…Smart kids will bloom where they’re planted…
I also know plenty of non-USC alums who’ve done well and had success in life and made wonderful friendships both in and out of college…

Also, while I enjoyed college, my perspective on life has not solely been shaped by where I went to school and the people that I went to school with. Most of my USC alum friends and family work with people who went to a variety of schools and have large social circles made up of people from a variety of schools. The university you go to doesn’t always make or break your path in life…or it does if you let it (which is not necessarily a bad thing)…
College is what you make of it…If people think USC at $50,000 a year is worth it or they can get the financial aid and they really want to attend, then why not?

Visual for cost increases:

If you read the graphic, it is comparing USC’s tuition for next year vs. the other college’s tuition for this year. So no, it won’t be the most expensive for long (And I think calling it the most expensive right now is misleading since everyone is bound to go up). In fact we just got notified from my S’s college, and looks like they just edged out USC (and they aren’t even listed on that graphic, so I’m sure others already on that graphic will be even higher).
