use of graphing calculator in maths level 2

Hi. I wanted to know if graphing calculator is necessary for sat maths 2 for 800 score. I have never used a graphing or a scientific one before. also i am planning to do major in finance or related to finance. Will it be of use in that field? The ultimate question is…will it be worth for me to spend so much on it?
please let me if you have any doubts in the question and i am open to all suggestions

Yes you absolutely need a graphing calculator for the Math II test. It is basically required to do most of the test as a lot of the answers are in decimal form so without a calculator you won’t get any of those questions right.
If you’re majoring in finance, Math II is generally a good test to take, and in college if you take calculus or something (which I think is mandatory) then a graphing calculator will come in handy.

It is definitely worth the 100$. I would suggest that you buy a TI-84 Plus. It is very user-friendly and easy to use.

thank you.

Scientific calculators are good, too, if you know how to use them properly. A lot cheaper.

You don’t need a graphing calculator; a scientific one will suffice.

If I remember correctly, every question on Math II can be done with a scientific calculator, but some problems may be easier with a graphing calculator (it’s been awhile for me). Definitely a lot cheaper, unless you buy a cheap used graphing calculator somewhere.

In addition to the great suggestions here, see if you can talk to a math teacher at your school about borrowing a calculator. My school has a ton of TI-84s and TI-89s they lend to students for regular class use and testing. Also see if you can borrow a friend’s (ask them for a tutorial too)!

Don’t spend a bunch of money on something you’ll only use once. You need a scientific or preferably a graphing calculator, but that doesn’t mean you need to buy a brand new top-o-da-line fancy schmancy computer of a calculator either.
