Just a note to check your UCI webmail for any UCI notifications. I made the mistake of just checking my yahoo account, thinking that notices would be sent there. Just go to the UCI home page and log into webmail. I know some other people also did not know this.

I guess since we are now UCI students, notices will be sent to the UCI webmail account and not an outside account.

I think there is a way to forward emails to another account, but have to look into it. Much appreciated if anyone has easy instructions on how to do this.

yehh i’m doing the same thing with the delivery point…the only thing about that is that it gets routed entirely to your other email, and does not send a copy to your uci email, not that this a really a problem

It becomes a minor issue when you try to reply an email that was supposed to go into your UCI mail. So if you’re trying to reply to a UCI professor/administrator, you have to use your UCI email. Not sure if there’s a way to make it easier…

you can connect your gmail to the uci mail. mail still goes to the uci webmail in addition to your gmail. you can also change your settings so that you reply with whatever email the message was sent to.

^ jennifer7 are you sure about it going to both emails?
because for me it goes directly to my gmail and doesn’t send a copy to my school email…is there an option or button for that?

As in, I don’t know how to reply to emails that have actually been sent to my UCI e-mail with my UCI email. Does anyone know how to do this exactly for Yahoo!?

@oshoot yep, i’ve got all the emails in my uci account too. i looked at all my gmail settings and i can’t find anything about keeping the emails, but i will try to figure it out…

okay, i think this is the setting… on a gmail page (signed in, of course), click settings and then in the Accounts and Import tab, scroll down to the uci email account (at Check mail using POP3) say “edit info” and you should have a checkmark by “Leave a copy of retrieved message on the server”. does that solve it now?
