S was invited to the USNA Admissions Information Forum in Detroit. The schedule is from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Has anyone attended one of these in the past? Should we plan on being there the entire 3 hours? S has a conflict for the last hour with his football banquet. Will we be able to leave at 5:00 without causing a problem for S.

Is it sponsored by the NA or by your congressional deligation?

If its similar to the one here (congressional sponsored) its certainly OK to leave when necessary; D had a game to get to so we left after only one hour. We never did get to hear what our M’s-o-C had to say as they weren’t there while we were. Each service set up a table with information and there were a couple of current Mid’s to answer questions. The opportunity to talk at length with another women Mid was great for my D. The other big draw for us was to talk with Larry Mullins of DoDMERB one on one. He had his computer with all the files so if there’s any issue (and assuming he’ll attend) he can give you the direct scoop.

ROTC (of all services) were there also.

The info is mainly basic stuff geared it seemed for HS juniors just starting the process.

Definitely go if you can, even if you have to sit in the back and slip out before it’s over. We took our son to a USNA admissions event last year, and it was very informative and worthwhile if your son is considering applying to USNA.
