UT Austin Chances

I really want to apply to UT this fall, I have visited several times and I love it!

Major in Public Health, Microbiology, or both.

GPA: 4.0 unweighted, 4.25 weighted

Class Rank: 6/260 (approx. 260, I can't remember exactly)

Courses: Honors math and science since freshman yr., with a plan to take Anatomy, Spanish IV, AP Calc, AP English, Advanced physics, and Honors Chem II senior yr. (yes we only have 2 AP classes and no IB). I also took Intro to Sociology (as a sophomore) and Western Civilization I and II (as a junior) through a local college, especially because we lost our AP Euro course.

Work Experience: I've been babysitting since 8th grade and I started working at a movie theater in October 2011 and plan to keep the job until I graduate.

Community Service: I'm not sure exactly how many hours I have now, but at the end of my sophomore yr. I had 70+. I've done service through clubs, for projects, for my church and I'm employed by the Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks as a naturalist volunteer (since April 2011). I plan to do more service this summer and school year.

EC: Key Club (since sophomore yr.), Spanish Club (since sophomore yr.), Science Olympiad (did it sophomore yr. but we didn't have enough team members to compete) went to regionals this yr. and placed but not in the top (however I plan to next year), National Honor Society (plan to run for an office)

Scores: 30 on ACT (34 on English, 28 on Math, 30 on Reading, 27 on Science, 31 Combined Eng/Writing, 8 on Writing)

I am considered an out-of-state student for admissions, but I have residency and get in-state tuition because my dad lives here.

You have a great chance! Keep up the good work.
