UT Austin vs A&M Environmental Programs

Hey y’all, I’m trying to decide which school to go to. I want to get into Biology, but with an environmental focus. I’m not sure if I’m going to go for plants or animals yet, but I know I’m going to minor in marine biology. I live in Austin, and I love the city. UT seems nice, friendly, and I am more liberal minded. However, they only have two majors I could potentially go for (one of the bio programs or envi sci), and I do not think I can get into their natural science honors (dean’s scholars). At A&M there is evi science, biology, but also forestry, marine, horticulture, zoology, wildlife, and many more. I also believe I have a better chance of getting into one or more of the honors programs. The options sound amazing, but I’m not sure if I would fit in on the campus. I’m not conservative, and while I’m religious I don’t follow a specific religion. I am also worried about rankings, as I want to get into a very good grad school. Please help!

There are different biology degrees called options so you can do the focus you want even in biology, and environmental doesn’t offer as much flexibility if you aren’t honors.
