What do you mean by capped? What you have to say interests me baklava. I'm a WASP with a 2100 SAT score, but only a 1290 between math and CR in 1 sitting. (630M/660V/740W first sitting, 610M/670V/800W 2nd time). I'm 15/75 in my class, barely top 20%, I've done 3 APs (only 3 my school offers), and gotten a 5 on the Eng lang test so far. I have good ECs, good recs, very good essays.

Do I sound like someone who can be capped or someone who can get a summer headstart, or am I more likely to face deferral? I'm applying to the school of liberal arts and wnat to major in news editorial journlism btw (I'll be plugging the hell out of my 5 on the English AP test and my 800 on the SAT writing)

just wondering: y did u hate a and m? i totally understand not wanting to attend a certain college (due to location or courses offered), but hating it? come on now.

What baklava said is absolutely right. People who post on these forums should do a little research before making sensationalist claims about gaining admission into cetain schools - baklava has obviously done some.

When it comes to UT, it really depends on the school you are applying to. A 1250 SAT is very acceptable for liberal arts, but for business not so. Also remember that the orginal poster is applying in-state, so he will be given preference to an OOS student. Where did I get the above information from? A UT admissions officer and their website.

To the original poster: The only way to really know what your chances are is to do some research on UT admission stats and perhaps talk to a UT admissions officer. Don't ask for the ignorant opinion of the idiots on this forum - some are basically implying you need Harvard quality stats to get into UT. I created a thread asking what my chances are to gain admission to UT, but after reading this thread, I realize that was a big mistake. If you really want an honest opinion from CC, go to the UT forum: people who post regulary there are more on par regarding UT admission standards.

"Also don't even listen to wrxstiav, who has even HEARD of Rowlett texas." - ??

"i know i have a much better chance getting into A&M...but after visiting A&M, i would not like to go there..... you either love or you hate A&M....and i hated it.... but all the other university mentioned sound like good safties" - that was what i was commenting on.

You might not like what I say, but don't tell him to disregard it. It's my opinion, what's it to you?
