UT CNS Honors and Rescinded Offers?

Hello all,

It’s currently second semester of senior year for me and decision day approaches. As I looked around on the internet for information on what could change my future plans for committing to a university, I looked for what could possibly cause a rescinded offer of admission (to either UT itself or the Health Science Scholars program). Does anyone know just how badly one would have to do to get kicked out of UT or Health Science Scholars?

And here’s my personal question: does 2x B’s 1st semester and anywhere from 1x to 4x B’s 2nd semester sound like it’s in the danger zone? Because that’s where I am after not having gotten a B before this year. Additional information that may be relevant: I’ve taken on a fair chunk more this year (I’ve gotten 1st place in category at a regional and state science fair for presenting a research project I did on a hormone; I started a job at a pediatric oncology startup). Thoughts on whether I’m going to get kicked out of HSS? ?

Thanks!

It’s that time of the year where everyone’s grades are slipping and everybody is freaking about getting rescinded. This short guide should put your mind to ease.

Did you get arrested and charged with a felony or severe misdemeanor? If yes, then you’ll be rescinded if UT finds out and decides to take action on it. If not, move on to the next criteria.

Did you graduate high school? If yes, congratulations, you will not be rescinded. If not, try to get your GED before the fall semester and you will still be able to attend UT in the fall.

Wait, what about if I get 2 C’s in my classes? UT doesn’t care, even if you are in an honors program. You could even fail an elective if you wanted to. As long as you graduate high school and don’t get charged with a felony, you will be fine.

P.S. It’s senior year, go enjoy yourself. Grades literally don’t matter. Just make sure you graduate. Senioritis is a privilege to have. Sincerely, a college freshman who never had the luxury of having senioritis and who continues to toil over his classes.

tl;dr you’re not going to be rescinded
