Does anyone know the average GPA of undergraduate students in the Biological Sciences major (from the School of Natural Sciences)? I am planning on going to med school and your GPA is one of the most important factors, so I want to know how difficult it is to maintain a high GPA.

not sure if this helps but the average transfer GPA UT accepts in CNS is 3.61 3.62. Maybe thats some indication of what the CNS expects of students to hold or what the average student has currently.

Thanks xig5591. That was helpful.

You’re welcome. If you’re looking for a more accurate answer, I’m sure UT can help :)

Below is the information for graduating with honors in the college of Natural Sciences at UT, which is important for med school admission. It lists the GPA range for each honors classification and is representative of the Top 20% of Natural Science graduates. Don’t forget, in no way to do you have to major in any type of science to qualify for medical school. As a mater of fact, liberal arts majors, as a percentage, do far better in medical school admission than science majors.
