UT/TAMU Top 8%/10% with Low Standardized Test Scores

Hey everyone! I was just wondering, if I have low standardized test scores, but I'm currently in the top 8% of my class will I still be admitted into the college/major of my choice (such as Mays or McCombs)?

Does automatic acceptance with a class rank really guarantee a spot for me at one of these business schools or will I need to pull my SAT score up? I know that TAMU has top 10% admits (which I'm in) and Academic Admits (which is if you are in the top 25% of your class with a specific composite SAT/ACT score). My SAT score right now is overall pitiful and I am no where near the average composite scores that these business schools both average in. :(

Thanks in advance!

Auto acceptance only admits you into the university, not the the major/college of your choice. If your SAT scores are really that horrible, then you definitely need to take it again. If you end up getting denied from business school, don’t worry too much. You could always just do Undergrad Studies, work your ass off, and do an internal transfer to business.
I go to UT, and I have a lot of friends who are doing that.

you could get accepted, but def not into like the mccombs bhp.

That is correct, automatic acceptance at the University is guarenteed. Specific college/department acceptance is not.
