I know very little specifically about each school. But I can say business vs Econ.

Obviously each school is top in their areas.

I firmly believe that a degree from either will give you near limitless opportunities. I’m an Econ major looking to do business. If Chicago wasn’t as prestigious than it is, I would say absolutely uva.

If you don’t like Econ to begin with, and you just like chicago for the name, then definitely uva. Remember though, some of the top colleges don’t have undergrad business, and it is not to their disadvantage.

I don’t know chicago’s curriculum, but I’m sure it’s very math oriented. Probably calc 3, linear algebra, etc. Business school does not have those requirements. So you should most likely enjoy math to some extent.

Employers won’t expect you to know the technical stuff from Chicago, but will expect it from uva.

I don’t know much about chicago to Nyc/Wall Street, but uva is prominent.

Also…and this is important: I believe you have to apply to uva b school after 2 years. So you want to make sure that you think you can get in. You can check the website for %. But if you got into both schools, I couldn’t imagine you having a problem getting in.

Financially, that’s the hardest question…
I got into some very prestigious schools and took them out if the equation due to financial/location reasons. It’s undergrad…you shouldn’t be in +150k debt unless you can handle the consequences. The way I think about it, who knows how much money/what job I’ll be doing out of college. The last thing I want to do is bring on so much debt that I’m forced to keep a job that I hate just to pay my debt off. (If you get my vibe)

I’m not going to make a recommendation because I’m not educated regarding the specifics. I gave you general information to consider.

In the end, you can’t go wrong! Both are fantastic schools. Good luck
