I can't decide where I like better.
UVA is in a cool area and larger (maybe to big) while Davidson may be a little small in a less interesting area. I have yet to visit either but they are panning out to be my top from research. I'm undecided as to what I want to study also so it's hard for me to add that into the mix. But socially I'm more liberal but very preppy. I'm from Texas and would like a preppy school but also diverse in political views. I need advice, which school is do you all think is best or would be best for me? Thanks

Look, you’ll find everything (and everyone!) at UVA . . . it’s big enough that there will be plenty of different kinds of students. Davidson . . . you should probably visit, if you possibly can, to see whether it’s a good fit for you. In the meantime, check out student facebook pages, and contact both admissions offices and ask if they can put you in touch with current students who might be able to answer questions for you.

Many small LACs are in more isolated places than Davidson is, yet create enough on-campus excitement to keep their students happy. One of the biggest advantages of a less-isolated setting is for internship opportunities. In that respect, Davidson may actually be better situated than UVa. Charlotte, NC is one of the country’s largest financial centers and a significant player in the energy sector.
