<p>I know these threads are obnoxious, but I am in a serious dilemma. I put my deposit into wash u, but was accepted off the waitlist by UVa and Vandy. I love all three schools, but only took a strong second look at Wash U because it was the only one of the three to which I had been accepted. I really liked the school when I visited, but it's hard to close the door on these other two great schools that I like as well. Does anyone have any advice?</p>
<p>OK, my answer is very subjective, and just my point of view. All great schools, I think we can definitely agree on that. Wash U. though has always seemed to me to be a pre-med powerhouse (a little like Johns-Hopkins), and I’m just not sure what happens at a powerhouse like that? Seems a little like a cut-throat possibility. But I caution, I have never set foot on the campus nor inquired about it in any way because of my pre-conceived, biased glimpse of it.
Vandy sounds fabulous to me, though I did not apply there. Nashville is very cool. Though, when speaking to a friend of a friend we spoke about an individual there, and I asked “do they love it there”? And he said “yeah, they like it”. But then I asked, “do they LOVE it there?”…pause…he replied “no, that’s too strong a term”. We kind of laughed that I was pinning him down on his answer, but he stood by it saying that it just wasn’t what our friend was looking for. He alluded to extremes of wealth, cliques, politics. Let me say he knows this individual very well. Very luke warm response, and that sent up a big red flag. But again, who knows?
I LOVE UVA, and I’m kind of sad to soon be a 4th year student. Maybe it will be a slow year. At UVA, I love the history, tradition, the Grounds, the way they talk about Mr. Jefferson like he is in the next room. I have received a great education, and worked very hard, but happily for it. CVL is a great southern town. Not perfect, but no place is.
You have some great options!! Congratulations!! You’ll do well I’m sure at whichever you choose.

<p>Depends what you are looking for. I Love UVA but I also Like Vandy. Both are awsome schools. IF you plan on going into business go UVA without a doubt… Gl with the choice (I would take UVA but thats just me :)</p>
