Uva vrs earlham

HI
I am an international student from Ghana hoping to attend college this fall in the u.s.a
now my dilemma is this
going to earlham and paying about 30,000 in expenses n going to U.V.A and paying about 45,000 in expenses
now my parents are financially sound but going to U.V.A will be a lil bit stressful
i need ur opinion on wat step is best is a U.V.A worth the extra 15,000
cause i heard a schools name on your cv takes you really far
n secondly does anyone know any good organizations an international student can apply for aid from
thx
will be expectin ur feedback

Ghanaboy12, wow those are very different schools - UVA is a huge, prestigious state school. Earlham is a very small, respected liberal arts college with a big international component. Your experiences would be quite different. If you’re headed to graduate school, I would argue you’d be better to save your money, go for the more intimate experience at Earlham, and save the money for grad school. But the bigger issue is just do you want the big school v. small school experience. UVA has fraternities, a big big sports program and all that. With Earlham, you’d be more of a participant than a spectator.

@ shelbymom thx 4 da advise
am still torn i really would love the uva experience and the prestige that comes with it
but then i also like the intimate setting of earlham
i am interested in a international relations / economics programme
thank you once agian 4 da advise
i am also concerned about graduate school
but i figured i could work for a while and get some money
my big sister also got a free ride into grad school and so did my cousins
so i am hoping that i will be able to get by some scholarship when the time comes
i am not sure about the situation in the states but is it easy to get an decent payin job without grad school
