My daughter is in the same boat. She has narrowed it down to UVM and UMD. WE are going back to UVM this week to take another look. Any more info that anyone has would be helpful
At one point conventional wisdom was only apply to your state vet school (if there was one in your state or one with which there is an admission agreement) because if you were not good enough to get in there, you are very unlikely to get in anywhere out-of-state. Typically acceptance rates are higher in-state and number of seats for in-state kids is higher. Not sure that is as true today (my daughter was not accepted by our in-state vet school but was accepted by several out of state vet schools).
I know several undergrad pre-vet kids who are also taking PA classes in case they change their mind/do not get into vet school.
Not sure you will go wrong with either UVM or UMD. Whichever one your daughter prefers should work out fine (assuming both are financially the same/similar).
