UW vs Boulder vs Lewis and Clark vs Willamette vs U oregon

I'm from the East Coast and therefore need a little more help in scoping things out. I am interested in International Relations/Foreign Affairs, Foreign Language (romance), English lit, writing, and social sciences. Pretty much your typical LAC load. But I also want to be in a city and surrounded by diversity, not only racial but of thought and background. I want an intellectually stimulating environment but also went to a very small, achievement oriented high school and am looking for a different experience.

You can get all of that and more at UW.

I second UWHuskyDad. I am an Oregonian though. So I’ll tell you that the UO is a great school as well (especially in the areas you are interested in), but it has a small campus feel with a rather smaller student:faculty ratio compared to the UW (doesn’t sound like that’s what you want). Eugene, OR is mid-size college town that is centered around the activities of the university; so you’ll get that stereotypical college feel, as they’re pretty big on their athletics. Seattle, WA is huge (relative to Eugene). Not to mention the UW has nearly double the student population than the UO. You can find a quality education and a diverse student body at either, but it sounds to me like the UW is a better fit for you! It’s all a matter of personal preference and what you want to take from the experience.
