So I applied for UCSD transfer as a communication major and I got waitlisted. I know it’s not certain that I will get in and stuff but I just wanna get some insight on how the major is at UCSD. I’m currently a sophomore at UW seattle studying communications and I wanna get into the business school (Foster) but the chances of me getting in are quite low because my grades aren’t that great and they’re very selective.
I wanted to transfer to san diego because I absolutely hate the weather here in seattle. I know people say it’s not that bad when you get used to but I get like seasonal depression and stuff and whenever it’s raining I just don’t wanna leave my bed, making me unmotivated to do things and get involved in the school. Major wise, I think both schools have similar communications curriculum? Correct me if I’m wrong. UW’s communications major is more theory based instead of hands-on opportunity and experiences so I don’t really feel like I’m learning anything and kinda wasting time no offense. My parents want me to stay at UW and try to go for the business school but it’s an awkward timing because I wouldn’t be able to apply for the business school until the next school year but I gotta decide if I want to attend UCSD during the summer (if I get off the waitlist).
I’ve always wanted to study in california ever since I was in middle school (I’m an international student). I figure that I would rather go there and then like UW better instead of never attending and always wondering? I know I should wait until the waitlist decision comes out to decide but I just can’t get my mind off of this issue
