Hopefully not “lose” but in a protected sleeve/plastic. Otherwise you’re likely looking at the lower/lowest end of whatever numbers you may have seen quoted.
Reading this thread makes me happy that my parents put their money in mutual funds. (They basically collected cruises.)

Most are in special protected plastic boxes and they haven’t been touched since they were minted in 1922 
There are a couple of gold coins too. Got them all into a safety deposit box this afternoon!
