I want to know how you made it in and if you have any tips/suggestions/warnings about admissions as well as high school curriculum leading up to applying :) Thanks!

Just do what you enjoy, try hard and make good grades, kill your SAT’s, and write good essays. It’s a simple formula.

You should consider posing your high school curriculum questions to your/a Vanderbilt admissions counselor. I asked one of them a question about my senior year schedule at a Vanderbilt Roadshow and received excellent advice.

Every kid applying fits the SAT range and has a good GPA. Write an original essay that really reveals a lot about yourself, gain a leadership position in one or two clubs you actually enjoy participating in and talk to the admissions officer in your area frequently.

Do you just email them? And what do you mean by a roadshow?

i really think it gives you an edge if you do an allumni interview. I know it’s “optional,” but that just means that going the extra mile to do it really shows your interest. I’ve also heard through the grapevine that the interviewer holds more weight than the admissions counselors let on.
