On these forums we have heard about the "smokin' hot" Vanderbilt girls (and I quote), but how are the boys of the South?

Are the "Southern gentleman" stereotypes true? Are Vanderbilt boys mostly frat boys? Mostly date sorority girls (even for guys not in fraternities)? Is there a huge range of boys/their interests between say, Blair and Engineering and Peabody and the Arts and Sciences?

How many students, percentage wise, are generally dating? Are there lots of random hook-ups with the Greek scene being so predominant?

There is a small gender disparity: 52% girls and 48% boys for undergraduate; does this come into play?

Thanks in advance!!

well, the guys generally don’t match the level of “smokin’ hotness” of the girls here. Which sucks, but oh well. There are a lot of southern gentlemen types and frat boys, but I don’t think they care if a girl is in a sorority or not. I don’t think there’s a huge range of boys to choose from here.

Most people I know hook-up, but students do date.

Thank you for your response!

What do you mean exactly by “southern gentlemen”?

Also, you said “I don’t think there’s a huge range of boys to choose from here.” Do you think you could maybe elaborate?

From what I’ve heard, Vandy has a big hotness disparity to complement the gender one (girls unbelievable, guys meh). So its like any guys’ dream come true - unmatched odds of getting on with a babe. Girls, on the other hand, have to all vie for only a few decent looking guys.

I am a guy, btw.

The guys are most definitely (in general) not as good looking as the girls at Vandy. There are hot guys to be found, of course.
