Vanderbilt Class of 2015 ED1

Everyone I know has either gotten a letter or phone call by the 17th

Last year they mailed the letters on the 15th, and you were allowed to call the admissions office or your admissions counsellor if you hadn’t received the letter by the 17th (or possibly the 18th.) After much angst, my son called from school and was accepted. I don’t think the acceptance letter arrived until the 19th or 20th. I hope the admissions office will send the letters out earlier this year, as they did in 2008.

PS He loves Vanderbilt, socially and academically. Good luck to you all.

Wow, I really hope the letters arrive by the 15th, that would be awesome.

Thank you. So I will definitley know by 18th. thats a relief!

They’re actually changing it this year… they send the letters on the 15th, but they don’t allow you to call until the 21st, according to some comments on vandy’s admission blog.

i am already dying a slow death waiting for the 15th…the next few days after that are going to be beyond anxiety-ridden. ugh.

Tell me about it. Personally, I’m looking into the different methods of inducing a time controlled coma. I think that would make the wait bearable :P

I know… i have finals on the 16th.
That is going to be the LAST thing im worried about… ugh!

Can I get some thoughts on me getting accepted?

3.9 GPA
31 ACT 34 English 31 Math 31 Reading 28 Science
APs: European History, U.S. History, Physics B, Chemistry, Literature, Psychology, Macroeconomics, Government & Politics

Extracurriculars: SNHS

Other Notables: I am maxed prestige and level on COD4 and 5, being 5th prestige on MW2 where I also have a 2.21 K/D ratio.

I don’t have many extracurriculars probably because I don’t like wasting my time on things both myself and other normal people don’t care about at all when I could be playing Call of Duty or Madden instead. I’m pretty bad at Super Smash Bros though for some reason–I don’t know why.

I enjoy working out both in the gym as you can tell by my biceps and five-star abdominals, and at my home as you can tell by my abnormally buff right hand. I participate in all non-school athletics except for rugby. I quit football to play it instead since it required less time. I’m black so I can tear up any sport I play.

It’ll be a reach. Average K/D ratio of accepted class of 2014 was 3.4 without camping.

do we seriously have to wait until the 21st? that actually just ruined my life

how does everyone plan to cope on the day of? i know i won’t be focusing on school :P

im telling my mom to call me if the letter comes and i’ll come home from school to read it. i won’t be able to stand it.

and i just read some comments on the blog, apparently ALL the envelopes are “thin” envelopes, so don’t throw them out without reading them! i’ve heard of that happening.

also, does anyone know how long it would take standard shipping to get from nashville to new york? im flipping out im leaving the continent on the 21st which is the day we apparently call

I know im so sad about the 21st. i live cali which means it will take ages for the letter to come. but thanks for the warning about the thin envelopes. I would probably not open it just because i knew i was rejected. and the day of i am going to disneyland. haha trying to get my mind off of it.

haha well at least if you’re rejected you’ll be in the happiest place on earth. i’ll be jetlagged in china

i remember when i was waiting last year for my acceptance letter good times.

vandyland how long did your letter take to arrive/where do you live?

well, ill be checking the mail on the 15th (and every subsequent day) even though i know it wont arrive in CT that quickly. im just going to tear the thing open with and get it over with. im getting so stressed out about this. im an emotional wreck haha. i wish i just knew already whether i got in or not so that i could eliminate the possibility of spending my christmas writing apps for colleges i dont really want to attend. ive been working on other essays but i keep praying i wont have to… :[

onebluegoldfish…i am in the exact same boat. i just need to know. most other schools tell their early acceptances earlier than this. why is vanderbilt so old school. internet is my friend.

Haha you guys aren’t alone. I already have a pile of essays for other schools, but I really hope I won’t have to use them. I have finals, concerts (2 solos), Christmas plays, and band tryouts this week, but I can’t focus on anything but the 17th and this darned letter.
