Vanderbilt ED

I’m applying to Vanderbilt ED I. The school is literally perfect for me; I want to go soooo bad, and they offer such amazing financial aid. Just some background information on my school: out of the last 26 applicants (past 3 classes), no one has been accepted. I don’t know is this is just a coincidence or if there is some strange reason, but I hope this doesn’t affect me. Here are my stats:

SAT: 1540, Math 790, Reading 750

ACT: 34 (34, 36, 31, 35)

Subject Tests: Physics 800, Math II 800, Chemistry 780

GPA: 102.53, Our school doesn’t rank, but we give groups and I’m in the top 10%, but from that chart its pretty likely that I’m top 10/579.

AP/IB: AP World (4), Ap Stats (5), IB Physics SL (7)

I am taking so many other IB courses, but since they are IB, they are 2 years long and I don’t take the rest of the exams until the end of senior year.

My course rigor is literally the hardest in our school. I’m taking HL Chem, HL Math, HL Physics, HL History, HL Lang/Lit, SL Spanish, and TOK…

EC’s: Math Team President 11, 12

Science Olympiads 11, 12 (we qualified for the state meet, but that probably don’t mean anything lol)

Varsity Cross Country, Winter, and Spring Track 9-12

Worked at a day camp with 7 year olds for 2 summers

Unpaid Math/ Physics tutor 9-12 (60 ish hours a year)

Boys Scholar Athlete Leadership Club 9-12

Math and Science Honor Societies 11, 12

Basically the theme is supposed to be math and science, since I’m applying for a math major and maybe a minor in physics.

My essay is unique and definitely thought provoking. I spoke about my experience working at the day camp compared to my life in school. Basically I explained since that everyone already knew me in school, they thought I was weird, even though I’ve completely changed over the years, but at the camp, no one knew me and I instantly was well liked etc…

One of my recs is from my HL Math teacher, who I LOVE. I stayed after class just to talk with him all the time and he is my EE mentor, so I would assume he wrote a really good one.

My other on is from my AP Stats teacher. I was in a class of all but 3 seniors when I was a junior, and me and this one other girl I’m friends with were the only ones that tried and she loved us, so again I’m hoping it’s good.

I know nobody truly knows the chances of getting in, but hopefully there’s some Vandy experts that know the insider information lol… thanks for reading the whole thing if you’re still here

Everything seems solid. Just make sure your recs and essays are good (maybe have a teacher you trust give the essay a once-over) and you should have a pretty strong shot I’d say. Unfortunately it’s always impossible to predict, but you’re in a strong position relative to the applicant pool and the EDI class.
