Which ones better? This is for Chemical Engineering major by the way. Give me some opinions

Quote from an email my mom got from a VUSE prof:
"It is not worth coming out of school with $100K of debt just to go to Vanderbilt. The honors programs at UT are excellent, and would be cheaper by far, I am sure."

Cost wont be an issue since my parents make < $50k so the financial aide will probably good. but other than that..... academics wise

This makes no sense. My parents have money, so cost WILL be an issue.

Vanderbilt is a small school, UT is a big school. Both good programs and the actual material will be about the same. Each is what you make of it, so choose which one is a better fit for you. No college is going to make you successful, but both will present many opportunities to you. Thats what I have gathered from my excessive amounts of research on this topic. I'm an auto admit to a&m and UT (most likely engineering honors) and I am applying to a&m as my safety, with vandy as my top choice. Didn't even apply to UT because I live in austin and I know its not the right fit for me.
