For someone who has looked forward to a college with a vibrant night life I have heard that I may be dissapointed at Vanderbilt because of the lack of off campus activity and therefore good parties. The social scene seems to be wrapped up in the frats but Ive also heard that the university is trying to crack down on the frats in an effort to become more of an ivy league type school. What do you all think?

That people that tell you there isn’t life outside the Vanderbubble are wrong. Yes, it’s true that the tours won’t go by Greek Row to de-emphasize the Greek presence here, but downtown Nashville is about two miles away from campus to keep you entertained if frat parties get stale/aren’t your thing. There’s something for everyone.

if you want a vibrant night life i promise you can find one quite easily…

Indepedents have plentiful options steps away…one of the beauties of Vanderbilt is an unusually positive town gown relationship…and obviously Greek life is lively
