<p>The residential system at Rice can't be beat. If you have a thread of inhibition, shyness, reserve, you might choose with Rice. You are welcomed, beyond anything you've ever known, by your residential college. My son (Freshman now) is trying hard to be a volunteer O-week coordinator this summer. Tough competion, no pay, long hours. Why? To get to know the underclassmen and to welcome them with open arms, open hearts the way he was welcomed. I'm not kidding.</p>
