<p>I know Vandy's in the South, but how southern is it? As a relatively liberal person not from the South, do you think it will be a MAJOR culture shock going in? Any contributions would be appreciated</p>
<p>Vanderbilt kids are from all over the country (and around the world now) so I wouldnt worry about this.</p>

<p>Absolutely not. The culture here is not very “southern.” While Nashville is certainly southern, Vanderbilt has it’s own culture.</p>
<p>New York sends more students to Vandy than any other state (other than Tennessee).</p>
<p>What do you think of when you hear “southern”? Maybe we can help confirm/dispel some stereotypes that you think may be at this “southern” school.</p>
