My son's been accepted to all 3. He's interested in BioMed with an eye toward Med school. The money is roughly the same between Vandy and Casey (We're PA residents, so Schreyers win on that front.) Any recommendations? (Show your work)

Unless money is a huge issue, I really don’t see any reason not to go to Vandy. I believe Schreyer’s is Penn State’s honors college. I was also accepted into that program with a large scholarship (NJ resident not PA) but chose not to really even consider going there because money was not an issue and I had no interest in being 1 of 38,000 undergraduates at Penn State. No matter what rankings say about engineering schools, you will get a better, more personalized education at Vanderbilt of Case because the classes will be smaller. I believe Case is ranked similarly to Vandy for engineering, but Vanderbilt is a much better overall school with a much better national reputation. At Vanderbilt, the focus of the engineering school is undergraduate education. There are many oppurtunities to work with professors as research assistants over the summer or during the school year. The opportunities are going to be very hard to attain at Penn State As far as location, Case is in Cleveland. . .enough said. Vanderbilt is in Nashville, one of the most vibrant, active cities for young people. A friend of mine goes to Case and is in the engineering school and isn’t happy with the lack of diversity (not racial, but rather academic and social interests). He went there because he received a large scholarship. He also hates the weather. When applying to Med schools, you want Vanderbilt on the diploma, not Penn State (regardless of honors college) or Case Western.
