<p>Bard was an undergraduate school of Columbia during the early 1900s. I guess the tradition of academic rigour comes from that.</p>

Well, I find it very odd that all of the sudden this thread has started to pick up considering it has been a while since I started it. And yes, Leslie, that was one of the reasons that these three were my top choices; the very liberal, and also, alternative vibe. However, I have been accepted to Vassar ED and so I am going there. It was my top choice and I am more than elated.</p>

Agreed. Which is exactly why my family members went there. I had another recently graduate from Sarah Lawrence. All these schools are well-known for their flexibility in curriculum, courses, majors, and everything else smart, self-directed learners want in a college. The political leaning is simply the natural outcome of having an open mind. ;)</p>
