Ok I’m absolutely in love with Vassar but is anyone else kind of upset that they’ve been updating their instagram more than they’ve been updating us about when decisions will be coming out? I mean I understand that things are kind of a giant mess with Covid and all and idek if the admissions account is actually run by the admissions office, but it’s just a bit upsetting that they’re posting on social media like everything is fine and good when they still haven’t let us know when they’re releasing decisions. I know that knowing the date of when we find out if we got in or not has no affect on the outcome, it’d just be nice to know when we’ll be aware of the outcome so we have a chance to mentally prepare in case the odds are not in our favor.
I completely agree.
I know it’s very frustrating and stressful to wait this long and still not have an answer. However, Vassar is not doing anything different than they have in other years. The decisions always come out by April 1st and usually toward the end of March. They are not doing anything shady or deceptive. I’m guessing you’ll have the answer by Wednesday at the latest, so hang in there and best of luck!
I think we may at least get an email today around 4pm notifying us of the decision date which if I had to predict would be March 31st. I remember I saw on previous threads that for ED Vassar sent out an email at 4pm saying they would release decisions in two days and since the end of March is in two days it makes sense.
I hope so, the wait is literal agony. btw who did u hear that from?
does anyone know the difference in applicants this year? i know for many other similar schools the application numbers rose like crazy, therefore decreasing the admissions percentage. i’m just hoping i still have a chance because I’ve been waitlisted too much eeek
I remember reading it a few posts up from previous Vassar ED applicants
It’s hard to say. Most highly selective colleges did get an increase in apps, so it would make sense that the same is true for Vassar. However, the fact that a lot of students applied to an abnormal amount of schools (which helped raise the # of apps are colleges) will likely decrease yield, forcing schools to accept more students from the app pool.
took the words right out of my mouth. their vagueness is just adding so much anxiety. hoping the admissions process isn’t reflective of how they run the actual university because Vassar is a serious consideration.
You took the words right out of my mouth as well I’m also worried that all of the indecision and everything is indicative of how things work at Vassar. It’s my top school and I’d have to seriously re-evaluate my feelings about it if this is in fact the way things run.
Another 4pm goes by without any word…
The university is run quite well. They have good communication around covid. The students have a short spring break coming up and there are a lot of activities planned on campus, since they can’t leave. They also give financial aid offers at the same time, so maybe that is taking longer this year.
We should get an email today itself, as it is only 2 days left in March, and that I suppose should be considered as “End of March”, I guess
I’m actually a Vassar 2024 student reading this as a form of procrastination. I promise that the college is far more organized than the admissions office, students joke even now about how vague the admissions process was. We get emails from the President weekly, constantly get emailed from different departments across campus, and have an organized app which provides all the numbers and information of different resources around campus. It’s really intuitive to get help for anything. So don’t distress and think Vassar is like this.
Thnx for sharing the info.
got the email too March 31 “at the close of business” so like 4 or 5ish
ah ok thank you very much
3/31 this week
Just got the email that decisions will be out on Wednesday!
March 31st it is. Did they specify when the “close of business” is??
